Wenger on...the performance
"Well, we lost and it's difficult to understand how we
lost. Overall our commitment was right, the quality of our game was
right, and we succumbed to mistakes that of course happen in
football. It is a great opportunity tonight, I just feel it's a
good test for our commitment and character. We will come back, we
just have to take points now."
Wenger on...Sol's substitution
"I think he was very down at halftime, and he
felt guilty. We wanted to fight for him in the second half, and get
back. It was not a disaster, we were two-one down and you felt that
at any minute we could score. At half time I had other worries, I
decided to change Sol and then you go on with it."
Wenger on...inexperience at the back
"At the moment we are short of course. Maybe we
have lost Lauren for the rest of the season, Ashley Cole is not
back, Kolo and Eboue are away, Sol is not there. We are short at
the back that I can concede. We have to stick together, defend a
bit more everywhere on the pitch, and go through that patch because
there are a lot of positives as well."
Wenger on...the team's current form
"It's a shame at the moment because last
week we beat Wigan but not enough, we lost at Bolton, we lost
tonight. In every game you feel we should have won."
Wenger on...Abou Diaby
"When you think it's his only second
complete game, he looks a very promising talent. I think in the
second half he became stronger and stronger."
