Wenger - Indonesia stay was fantastic

Arsene Wenger admits that the Club’s visit to Indonesia was a hugely-positive experience for his players - both on and off the pitch.

The Arsenal squad arrived in Vietnam on Monday morning after an action-packed three-day stay in Jakarta.

"Our stay was short but very positive and very instructive. You could see from the way that the players responded to it after the game that everybody enjoyed our stay"

Speaking after his side signed off with a 7-0 victory against an Indonesia Dream Team, the Frenchman expressed his thanks for the welcome they received.

“It was great because first of all, people everywhere were very warm and welcomed us fantastically well,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.

“Our stay was short but very positive and very instructive. You could see from the way that the players responded to it after the game that everybody enjoyed our stay.

“The surprising thing of the night was that it felt like we played at home and Indonesia played away. It was quite amazing how many fans know every club song! The whole night was a fantastic atmosphere.

“We played a very good tempo with good technical attitude and a good team attitude. Overall it was an interesting training session for us.

“Everyone could play, we gave 20 minutes to the group who came on later and we could see some good young players who came on as well. Overall it was a positive night.”
