Arsène Wenger has spoken of his gratitude for the fans’ support ahead of their planned march this weekend.

The manager came under fire at a Shareholders’ Q&A last week after failing to secure silverware this season. In addition, newspaper reports linked Wenger with a move away from the Club.

But Arsenal fans have responded to the negativity. In support of the Frenchman, the Club’s most successful manager, one supporters’ group has organised a march to show their thanks.

At Friday’s pre-match press conference, the 59-year-old thanked the fans for recognising his tireless work in this way.

“When you are manager you want the support of your fans and it's good to know you have that,” Wenger said.

“In any job, most of the time it is minorities who come out with the loudest voice. The majority responds to minorities.

“I cannot ignore that some people were not happy and I can understand that. But I do as well as I can - I can't do more.

“I can't work harder, believe me.”
