Arsène Wenger would be happy to play English opposition all the way to the Champions League Final.

On Friday afternoon, the Frenchman saw his Arsenal side paired with Liverpool in the Quarter-Finals. If they get through that tie, they face Chelsea or Fenerbache, with the Stamford Bridge outfit fancied to progress. Manchester United, one of the tournament favourites, are on the other side of the draw so the only way Arsenal could play them was if they met in Moscow on May 21. It is a scenario that Wenger was happy to consider.

"Yes, I would relish that as it would mean we go through every time," he said at Friday's press conference. "But football is not predictable, that's why it's interesting.

"You would ideally prefer [not to play an English team]. But you can't choose and we want to go through to the Final and you know, before that, you will have to play an English team at some stage if you want to go there."
