Arsène Wenger has revealed his great respect for Brendan Rodgers.

The Swansea City manager brings the newly-promoted Welsh side to Emirates Stadium on Saturday having won more friends than points this term.

But then both teams are looking for their first Premier League win of the season and Wenger feels his opposite number should be given credit for his approach to the game.

“I have a lot of respect for managers [like him] because I know how difficult a job it is and the fact he plays in a positive way and makes it pay off,” Wenger said.

“We all try to play in a positive way and if it doesn’t come off we are quickly criticised."
