Chelsea will still have a major say in this season's title race, according to Arsène Wenger.

The champions started the campaign in style but have suffered a major dip in form, collecting just five points from their last six Premier League fixtures to slip two points behind Arsenal at the top of the table.

Chelsea's problems have coincided with the loss of key players like John Terry, Frank Lampard and Michael Essien but Wenger believes their return will see an upturn in the Blues' fortunes.

"I don’t rule Chelsea out of the title race at the moment, at all, because they now have Essien back, they will get Lampard back, they will be a dangerous team," he said.

"I said many times that it is not only Man United and Arsenal who play for the title this year.

“It is as well Chelsea, Tottenham maybe, Man City, you have five or six teams who can play for the title but at the end of the day the team that will win it is the team that gets more points than anyone else from these games [against their title rivals]."
