Arsène Wenger has described Olivier Giroud as a "real" centre forward and believes he will add something extra to the Arsenal attack.
The France striker completed his switch to Emirates Stadium at the start of July after scoring 21 goals for Montpellier as they swept to the Ligue 1 title.
Arsenal fans got a sneak preview of Giroud at the European Championship but Wenger has seen a lot more of the 25-year-old - and he expects him to shine in the Premier League.
"I bought him because he's a real centre forward and he is an intelligent player," Wenger told Arsenal Player.
"He is a player who developed late and I feel he can integrate in the way we play football and add something to the way we play because he is good in the air.
"He has a good, strong body and I feel he has qualities that are needed in our squad. Hopefully he can show that."
