Arsène Wenger firmly believes that William Gallas has a future at Arsenal.

The French defender has endured an up-and-down campaign which reached its nadir in November when he was replaced as captain. However Gallas has rediscovered his best form in recent months, contributing to a run of six consecutive clean sheets.

Arsenal will have to do without Gallas when they search for a seventh successive shut-out at West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night - he is nursing an ankle injury. But Wenger expects to have his compatriot back soon, and for the forseeable future.

"His future is here and it’s bright," Wenger told Arsenal TV Online.

"I believe he has shown that the only answer in football is quality performances."
