Arsène Wenger has revealed that Eduardo will not be available to face Plymouth in the FA Cup Third Round on January 3.
The Croatian international picked up a slight hamstring strain this week when he completed 45 minutes for Arsenal Reserves and Wenger is certain that the Pilgrims clash will come too soon for the striker.
Speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference, the manager paid tribute to the 25-year-old’s dedication but insisted that no risks would be taken in the FA Cup.
“In two weeks we already have the Plymouth game and he will not be capable to play in that game,” said Wenger. “It is still a bit early because he will be out for two weeks and then he has to get his fitness back.”
“He is fantastically keen and a dream to work with but when you have been out for nine months it takes some time to come back to your best form.”
