Arsène Wenger cannot remember a time when he had so many players fit and available.
Thomas Vermaelen (Achilles), Manuel Almunia (ankle) and Abou Diaby (calf) are still working their way back from injuries but Kieran Gibbs is back in training after an ankle problem and, although he misses the visit of Manchester City, is in contention to face Leeds United in the FA Cup on Saturday.
To Wenger's delight, the same can be said for the vast majority of his squad right now.
"From Saturday we have nobody injured," he reported at his pre-match press conference.
"Today was Gibbs’ first day back in full training and he came through well. We have another test tomorrow in training and he will be completely available for Saturday. That is very encouraging. It is the first time we go into the New Year with a squad of that size available.
"The squad is confident, has great belief, very hungry, highly motivated to do well and overall physically we are in a good shape."Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
