Arsène Wenger maintains that his future will be sorted out 'soon' and the delay over a new contract is not linked with former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein.

The Frenchman's contract runs out at the end of the season and his plans have been subject to media speculation for the past six months.

Over recent weeks he has used the "soon" with consistency when asked the time-scale for sealing a new deal. He used it again at his pre-match press conference on Thursday but he stressed Mr Dein, who left the club in April, had no affect on his decision.

"There are no major problems," said Wenger. "And it's not linked with David Dein. I'm friends with David but it is not connected with my contract talks."
