According to Arsène Wenger, managers find it “much harder” to deal with defeats than players.
Wenger’s side suffered their fourth Premier League defeat of the campaign against Aston Villa on Saturday, already one more than in the whole of last season.
The manager admits that it usually takes a couple of days for the disappointment to subside before he can analyse the display. However, the Frenchman is unsure if rigorous examination of the performance against the Villans will really help.
“We were beaten by a team who were sharper than us,” said Wenger after the game. “You can watch that again on the tape; it doesn’t change.
“It is much harder [for managers]. You look at the tape again but it is always very difficult after the game. Those first 48 hours are very difficult for every manager.”
