Arsène Wenger... has been consulted by the Board
Wenger - Decision on new Chief Exec made soon
By Richard Clarke
The appointment of a new Chief Executive is “progressing well”, according to Arsène Wenger.
Since the departure of Keith Edelman in April, the Club have been working hard to recruit a replacement.
At the time, Director Danny Fiszman said they were looking for a CEO with “a footballing side”.
Speaking ahead of the weekend game with Newcastle, Wenger said he was included in those discussions but, he stressed, the Directors would make the final call.
“It is progressing quite well,” he said. “We are getting to the end of the story. I am involved in it and I am consulted for it but it is down to the Board to make that decision.
“Having consulted me, they will take the responsibility to name the right person. I think the decision will be made soon but I don’t know exactly when.”
