Arsène Wenger says that Arsenal’s early qualification to the Champions League knockout stage has made December less complicated.

Arsenal travel to Olympiacos for their final Group F fixture on Tuesday knowing that their route to the last 16 and status as group winners is already secured.

Wenger is now expected to take the opportunity to give his younger players a game and he thinks resting key men will benefit Arsenal during a busy month in the Premier League.

“It does not define the whole season no, but it is a very important month for us,” he said.

“What you forget is that we could have been in a position where we absolutely had to win at Olympiacos to qualify. We have at least achieved one target in the month of December.

“We go to Olympiacos top of the group and completely qualified so we can focus on the Premier League.

“This month we have to dedicate completely to the Premier League and focus on every single game like a cup final.”
