Arsène Wenger is unsure whether to throw new signing Lassana Diarra into his first-team squad for the North London derby on Saturday.
The 22-year-old, who can operate in midfield or full back, is yet to play for Arsenal since arriving from Chelsea a matter of minutes before the transfer window shut on August 31. However he did play both internationals for France in the last 10 days.
"Diarra could be back in the squad, I don't know," said Wenger at Thursday's press conference. "I will decide that because he played two games over the break."
However the manager is in no doubt of his abilities.
"I was very pleased to get him," he said. "I like
him as a player he is very good defensively with a good fighting
spirit. He is young as well so we can create a unit of very strong
players in the same position. He is versatile. He can play right
back or left back as well as centre midfield. But I think basically
he will be in central midfield."
