Arsène Wenger believes the point his side earned in their stalemate against Chelsea last week could prove crucial at the end of the season.

Despite creating a number of chances, Arsenal could not find the breakthrough against a stubborn Blues side and had to settle for a draw at Emirates Stadium.

But despite his frustration at being denied victory, Wenger is confident it will not cost his side too heavily in the race for third place.

“I felt we had the chances to win the game. It was a locked game tactically and you could see that Chelsea are the masters at doing that,” he told Arsenal Player.

“I said after the match that it would be a good repetition for what they would face in Barcelona and they did that very well again [on Tuesday night].

“It was a bit frustrating but after losing to Wigan, it was important not to lose this game. Maybe that point will be very valuable at the end.

“It was a good point and overall we have taken four points from Chelsea - in any season that is not bad.”
