Arsène Wenger expects this season’s Champions League clash between Chelsea and Liverpool to be as close as ever.

For the fifth consecutive year, the two sides have been paired in Europe, and there has been very little to choose between the sides on every occasion.

Speaking at Friday’s press conference, the Arsenal manager predicted that the recent trend will continue.

“Again it’s a 50:50, who could know?” said Wenger.

“Again there is some history of them having met each other.

“It always comes down to one goal or even half a goal sometimes. It is a very open game as well.”
