Arsène Wenger says the team that wins the Premier League this season will do so with a positive outlook.

Wenger takes his Arsenal side to Stamford Bridge on Saturday to face Chelsea as the Gunners look to make it eight wins in nine.

The Frenchman, an advocate of attacking football throughout his career, says there is only one way to win the title this year.

“There is too much offensive potential in the league for a team to survive just on defence,” he said.

“You would think that if a team today plays against Manchester United or Manchester City and just sits back, at some stage they would be punished because there’s too much offensive potential.

“You could do that 10, 15 years ago. One or two teams could survive like that. But, overall, if you add all the offensive forces in the Premier League, there is too much there to resist.

“You could see even the other night when Manchester City played with their second team against Wolves. They [Wolves] were 1-0 up. They were there with their heart but suddenly, when they started to attack, you could see there was too much there.”
