Arsène Wenger says being favourites to claim third place means nothing - and that their attitude during the run-in is vital.

Arsenal moved into third spot for the first time this season on Wednesday night as they beat Everton while Tottenham were held by Stoke.

Wenger insists that his team must maintain their focus and not “ease off” if they are to finish the campaign in the top three.

“We are favourites because we are in third, but being favourite never meant a lot,” he said. “We must just put every effort in to do it.

“As soon as you ease off, things change quickly. We have tricky fixtures and how well we finish depends on our attitude. If we keep our attitude, we have a chance.”
