Arsène Wenger admits this year’s Africa Cup of Nations has left him underwhelmed.

Gervinho’s Ivory Coast are set to contest Sunday’s final against Zambia in Gabon’s capital city, Lebreville.

But Wenger has been far from impressed with what he has seen in the tournament so far, both on and off the pitch.

“I felt that two things have been disappointing - the overall quality of some of the games, and the attendances,” he said.

“To see a semi-final for the Africa Cup of Nations between Ivory Coast and Mali and see nobody there, you wonder what has gone wrong.

“Can the people not afford to pay for tickets? Are the prices too high? There is a deep, basic problem with this tournament - there is nobody there.

“Ivory Coast look to me above everybody else but the level is not comparable to any other team.”
