Arsène Wenger believes Tony Adams will be full of emotion when he sees his new statue.

The former Arsenal captain is visiting Emirates Stadium on Saturday to see how he has been immortalised by the club that he led to league titles in three different decades.

Wenger says Adams will understand the magnitude of his achievements when he sees himself cast in bronze alongside Herbert Chapman and Thierry Henry outside the stadium.

“It is certainly an emotional moment for him because you maybe realise on the day how much you mean to the club,” Wenger told the Official Matchday Programme. “You may not be conscious of when you play because you play in your own bubble.

“You try to do as well as you can, and what kind of history you leave behind you see through these kinds of things.”
