Sanchez Watt is a man brimming with confidence after being handed a new contract - but knows he must get his approach right off the pitch as well as on it to be a success at Arsenal.
The young striker has been in fine form for Neil Banfield’s Reserves so far this season, hitting seven goals in the team’s opening eight games.
Watt put pen to paper on a new deal last month following a meeting with manager Arsène Wenger and says he now needs to focus on what is important to make it at the Club.
“It [the contract] was a big confidence boost,” he told Arsenal.com. “I had a meeting with the boss where he told me what he wants and that he believes in me. I just have to drive myself on.
“He told me the things I need to work on, what I need to push on, what I am good at and what I now need to use.
“Now I just need to work hard 24/7 - even when I'm not playing football. It' not just about what happens on the pitch.
“I need to focus my lifestyle off the pitch too and it will pay for me when I'm out there.”Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source
