Theo Walcott is unlikely to be fit to face Barcelona on March 8.
The England international was stretchered off during the second half of Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Stoke City at Emirates Stadium after straining his ankle.
Arsène Wenger told Arsenal TV Online on Thursday that Walcott would be sidelined for “one or two weeks”. By the time he faced the press on Friday, the outlook was bleaker.
“Theo Walcott will be two to three weeks for an ankle problem,” said Wenger.
“I would say today it will be very unlikely he will be fit for the second Barcelona game.
“I imagine the worst so maybe I will be surprised in a positive way but I just give you the gut feeling at the moment that I have.”
