Theo Walcott admits he is “dead excited” about returning to the Far East for Arsenal’s 2012 Tour next week.

The England forward is part of the Gunners squad heading to Asia to take part in matches, training sessions and events in Malaysia, China and Hong Kong.

The passion the supporters exhibited on last summer’s tour made a big impact on the 23-year-old and he cannot wait to see them once again.

“I am dead excited - it is great to see the fans,” Walcott told Arsenal Player. “It means lot to them because they never really get to see us in person.

“As players we get to see a different side to the game, seeing fans who may never be able to come to Emirates. It makes their dreams come true and that is what we want to do.

“They love the Club so much, they love the players and they want to be close to us. They’re proper fans and all want the Club to do well. It is fantastic for us to see another side of it.”

Walcott admits he was surprised at the reception the players received in the Far East, but is eager to experience it once more this summer.

“There was a young lady who we saw at every training session,” he said. “Her boyfriend spoke to me and said, 'She loves you more than she loves me'! She was everywhere, following the coach, everywhere. It was crazy!

“The fans were unreal. I could hear them chanting our names every morning , they would call for different players and see if they would come out and look over the balcony. It was fantastic.

“[The Asian culture] is very different. They are so helpful, very happy, very generous. It was one of those experiences you need to see it for yourself.

“We went there last year and we're doing it again, and I am looking forward to every moment of it.”
