Theo Walcott says the rules at the Emirates Cup encourage the players to go for goal.
As well as collecting three points for a win and one for a draw, teams also receive a point each time they hit the net. Walcott believes that makes for a better tournament, though he wouldn't be keen on the idea being implemented in the Premier League.
"It's a good idea in a pre-season competition," he said. "It will encourage people to shoot and do that bit extra. This will hopefully make it more exciting for the fans at the matches.
"However, I'm not so sure about points for goals in the Premier League, personally, I like it the way it is.
"There are three big clubs playing at this year's Emirates Cup, so it's going to be a good pre-season test for us.
"I know it's only pre-season, but you always like to start well at the Emirates Cup, in front of your own supporters. I'm really looking forward to getting back out there at Emirates Stadium and playing.
"Celtic are a very good team with great supporters, so we're looking forward to playing against them. It should make a very good atmosphere in the stadium on that day!
"Also, AC Milan are one of Europe's leading clubs, so of course, we can't wait to play them as well."
Tickets for Day One of the Emirates Cup are now sold out. However, you can still purchase tickets for Day Two, which sees AC Milan take on Olympique Lyonnais before Arsenal face Celtic. Click here for more information
