Consistency will be the key to overhauling Manchester United in the race for the title, according to Theo Walcott.

Arsenal are back in Premier League action on Tuesday night when Everton visit Emirates Stadium. The championship has taken a back seat in recent weeks with big games in the FA and Carling Cups to negotiate but Arsène Wenger's squad can now focus on bridging the five-point gap between themselves and the unbeaten leaders.

United host Aston Villa while Arsenal take on Everton but Walcott will not be thinking about events at Old Trafford. As far as he is concerned the destiny of the title will depend on what he and his team-mates do.

“It’s all about the consistency,” he told the Official Matchday Programme.

“We can’t worry about United - we just need to win our games to stay in with a shout. The game against them here [at Emirates Stadium] will be a big occasion, I think, and it could come down to that.

"We’ll just keep plugging away, trying to get those three points every week and exerting as much pressure on them as possible.”
