Thomas Vermaelen believes Arsenal are on the cusp of their toughest game of the season.

The resurgent Gunners travel to Manchester on Sunday afternoon to face a City side currently leading the way at the top of the Premier League table, having dropped just seven points so far this season.

Although the league leaders lost their first game of the campaign against Chelsea on Monday night, Vermaelen believes Roberto Mancini’s team are title favourites.

“You're playing against the top team in the league so it will be a massive test for us away from home,” he told Arsenal Player.

“It'll be a nice game because we play against a top team. At the moment they are having a good run, they haven't lost this season apart from on Monday. I think they are the favourites for the title.”
