Robin van Persie is expecting plenty of goals in the Easter Sunday clash with Manchester City at Emirates Stadium.
The skipper, speaking in his programme notes, says that the firepower that both sides possess - added to the fact that both teams are desperate for three points - means it could be a thriller.
Arsenal and City have scored 137 goals between them in the league so far this season, and Van Persie believes that City's unpredictable recent form could also help make for an exciting match this weekend.
"You feel with City at the moment they could either go out and score none or three or five, you just don’t know," said Van Persie. "It makes it interesting as a fan because we can score five too, we've shown that already this season, against big teams. They can do it as well, so it might be 5-5 - you never know!"
That would be in stark contrast to each of the last two league meetings between the sides at Emirates, which both finished goalless. But with Arsenal keen to return to winning ways after last weekend's defeat to QPR, and City starting the weekend five points behind leaders Manchester United, Van Persie believes that neither side will be settling for a point this weekend.
"I'm confident that we can get a good result - we have to get three points, a draw is not that good for either of us. So it should be a great game.
"We are well prepared, because you have to know your stuff about the opposition, but in the end it's about your own performance that will hopefully make the difference."
