Van Persie in discussion with Arsene Wenger
Van Persie - New striker will strengthen team
By Richard Clarke
Robin van Persie would welcome another striker at Arsenal to replace Emmanuel Adebayor.
The Togolese forward left for Manchester City just over a fortnight ago and Arsène Wenger has yet to decide if he’ll go into the transfer market to bolster his front line.
Likewise, Van Persie believes that his manager has plenty of firepower already at Emirates Stadium but the 25-year-old is open-minded about a new acquisition.
“It depends how the boss wants to play – with one or two strikers up front,” said the Dutchman. “But myself, Eduardo, Nicklas and Carlos Vela can all play the main role up front. So there are at least four options.
“However if you ask me I am not against a new player as well because it would strengthen our squad.”
