Robin van Persie has paid tribute to Arsenal's supporters for their part in helping the team secure third spot.

The Gunners sealed Champions League football next season with a 3-2 victory at West Brom on Sunday, taking close to 3,000 travelling fans with them to The Hawthorns.

Van Persie praised the supporters' impact and admits they have made the difference over the course of the campaign.

"The [travelling fans] have been unbelievable, the home fans as well," he told Arsenal Player.

"The last few months have been different class. Every single game - the Spurs game, the Milan game, you can name them all - unbelievable.

"The away fans, they are always here, always singing, always cheering us up even when we are having a bad game, they are always behind us. A big thank you to all of them because they have been unbelievable."
