John Hartson in scoring mode for Arsenal
Thinking of ex-Arsenal striker John Hartson
Everyone at Arsenal has been deeply saddened by the news that our former centre forward John Hartson has been diagnosed with testicular and brain cancer.
John joined the Gunners as a teenager from Luton Town in January 1995 and, in two seasons at the Club, made 62 appearances, scoring 16 goals, under Bruce Rioch and Arsène Wenger.
John left Arsenal for West Ham United in February 1997 and continued his fantastic career with the Hammers, Wimbledon, Coventry City, Celtic, West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City, before retiring in January 2008. As well as his successful club career, John was also a regular for his country Wales, earning 52 caps, in which time he scored 15 goals.
Everyone at Arsenal Football Club would like to take this opportunity to wish John, together with his family and friends, all the very best in the challenging times that lie ahead. Our thoughts are with you.
