Theo - Watching Barca was like a PS3 game

By Nick Teale

Theo Walcott says Barcelona played as though a Playstation gamer was controlling them on Wednesday night.

The European champions went two goals up at Emirates Stadium before Arsenal scored twice to earn a draw in the Champions League Quarter-Final first leg.

The Englishman watched the first 66 minutes of the match from the bench and compared Barcelona's performance to something you’ll normally see on a video game.

“For me as a young player growing up and learning the game it was a fantastic experience just to watch some world-class players," said Walcott.

“It was like someone was controlling them on a PS3 at times. It was fantastic to watch."

Cesc Fabregas attributed Arsenal's turnaround to Walcott's influence as a substitute. But the 21-year-old played down his role - pointing to the fans' contribution instead.

"Just me coming on didn’t turn the game," he insisted. "The fans were like an extra man. We just showed great character coming back like that. You also need a bit of luck, which we got with the two goals. But I think it was a fair result.

“Almunia was fantastic for us. [Without him] it could have been three or four. Going in at 0-0 was a very good result because they had a lot of possession and come at us quite a lot.”
