Wojciech Szczesny praised Arsenal for a "professional job" after they secured a place in the Champions League knockout stages.

Arsène Wenger's side came on strong in the second half at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night to beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 thanks to two more goals from Robin van Persie.

Szczesny was annoyed that Arsenal's clean sheet was spoiled by a stoppage-time consolation but he was delighted to win Group F with a game to spare.

"We've won the group and I think we did the job very professionally in our last few games in the Champions League," said Szczesny.

"I wish we'd kept a clean sheet - I'm a little bit annoyed about the goal we let in - but we're very pleased tonight.

"It gives us a lot of confidence to win the group. We were always confident we could get out of the group but to have actually qualified with one game to go gives us even more confidence.

"The Champions League is always hard. I've always said that in this competition you play against top, top quality opponents from all over Europe. We know it's tough but so far we've done the job very professionally and I'm sure we can go far in this competition."
