Wojciech Szczesny admits that Robin van Persie’s scoring exploits can embarrass goalkeepers - including him.

Van Persie notched his 30th and 31st goals of the season in Arsenal’s dramatic win over Liverpool on Saturday, firing a delightful last-minute volley to sink Kenny Dalglish’s side at Anfield.

Szczesny also earned plaudits with a fine display, but the Polish international admits it does not always go his way where Van Persie is involved.

“We get bullied, I am not going to lie,” the 21-year-old joked. “He is a goalscorer, he gets plenty of them in training and plenty of goals in games. It is quite embarrassing sometimes.

“But there is nothing you can do. When you play against players like him you just want to be at your best and that is how you can improve.”
