Wojciech Szczesny is confident Arsenal will finish in the top four this season despite a slow start to the Premier League campaign.

With just four points from their opening four games, Arsène Wenger’s side have some catching up to do as they look to qualify for the Champions League for an incredible 15th successive year.

The Polish goalkeeper accepts the start has been below Arsenal’s usual high standards but believes there is enough quality in the squad to compete with the early pace-setters.

“We have had a disappointing start, let's not fool ourselves, but I believe we can start from Saturday and fight for the title,” he said. ““I'm confident we can achieve that if we stick together and do our things.

“You saw what happened to Chelsea last year, in the first 10-15 games they started very well. All the teams at some point have a bad time - you can't go through the season without a bad game.

“We believe our bad time has gone and we can push on now."
