Stats Zone brings you facts, figures and graphics from every Arsenal game.
The Gunners won 2-0 at Liverpool last weekend with goals from new signings Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla. It was Arsenal's third clean sheet in succession and extends their recent good record at Anfield, having not lost there since April 2008.
Today's Stats Zone focuses on Kieran Gibbs' influence on the left flank and Arsenal's hard-working wide men.
HEATMAP/CHALKBOARD - GIBBS
One of the key figures in Arsenal's victory at Anfield was Gibbs, who was exceptional both in defence and attack.
The young full back spent the majority of his youth-team career as a winger, and he displayed his attacking qualities against Liverpool by providing a genuine outlet on the left flank with his runs forward from the back.
As our first heatmap shows, he spent most of the match in the Liverpool half. Against Stoke (heatmap two) Gibbs was required to defend deeper.
Gibbs has made a fine start to the season, completing 81.8 per cent of his tackles in the Premier League so far.
His 79 touches at Anfield were just a few short of both Abou Diaby and Santi Cazorla and underlines just how influential the 22-year-old was in a superb team performance.
CHALKBOARD - PODOLSKI
While Gibbs was one of the team's most influential attacking outlets, Lukas Podolski's defensive discipline on the left flank ensured Arsenal were difficult to break down.
The Germany international was on hand with four clearances inside his own penalty area and three interceptions. Indeed, his average position was deeper than Gibbs' as the Gunners shut out their hosts.
"As long as that [clean sheet] record lasts, the more everybody does defensively because they want to keep the record going," said Arsène Wenger.
"Football is always a good lesson in humility because we had the number one and two goalkeepers out and went to Stoke and Liverpool and didn't concede a goal.
"You never know in the game but when you have a good work rate and spirit in the team, you have a chance."
