Arsenal today confirms Jay Simpson has signed a new long-term contract with the Club.
The forward, who turned 20 at the beginning of December, has enjoyed a strong start to the season. Appearing in all three Carling Cup fixtures, the Londoner produced an eye-catching performance in the match against Wigan where he celebrated his first start for the first team by scoring a brace.
Jay has also been ever-present in Neil Banfield’s Reserves, appearing in each match to date in their campaign and converting two penalties against Portsmouth and Stoke City.
Having been at the Club since he was nine, Simpson already has a place in Arsenal’s history as the first player to score a competitive hat-trick at Emirates Stadium, in a FA Youth Cup tie against Cardiff City in February 2007.
Everyone at Arsenal wishes Jay continued success with the Club.
