Mikael Silvestre will be Arsenal's quiet leader on Wednesday night, according to Arsène Wenger.
The manager intends to send a "Carling Cup" squad to Athens for the Champions League tie against Olympiacos this week. That means, once again, Silvestre is likely to be marshalling a youthful side from centre back. The 32-year-old has been ever present in the domestic competition this term and, for his manager, the former Manchester United player is under-rated.
"He doesn't get enough praise for his attitude and his quality," said Wenger. "His commitment to the cause was absolutely fantastic at Man City last week in the Carling Cup.
"People respect him highly in the dressing room. He's a quiet leader. He's a positive guy and helps the young players. But of course the best help is to win the games."
