Young goalkeeper James Shea has been recalled from his loan spell at Dagenham & Redbridge.

James joined the League Two outfit on a season-long loan at the start of the 2011/12 campaign, but has found his first-team chances at Victoria Road limited to just four appearances.

The Islington-born keeper will be best remembered for his heroics in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy clash at Leyton Orient, where he made the crucial penalty save in the Daggers’ epic 14-13 penalty shootout victory.

His last appearance for John Still’s side came on Saturday in the FA Cup, as he helped earn the team a replay against League One side Walsall following a 1-1 draw.

Last season, James spent a short time on loan at Southampton before being recalled to provide valuable first-team back-up to Wojciech Szczesny - he was named on the bench seven times during the 2010/11 season, including twice in the Premier League.
