Before every Arsenal fixture, we’ll bring you a Scouting Report on the Gunners’ next opponents.

Former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson will give his pre-match view and you can get his post-match verdict in our Talking Tactics feature on Arsenal Player.

Arsène Wenger and his side welcome Olympiacos to Emirates Stadium on Wednesday so, to find out more, we also asked current professional Gianoulis Fakinos for his thoughts and analysis.

STEWART ROBSON
“Olympiacos lacked a cutting edge against Marseille in their first Champions League group game, despite having a lot of possession on the night. They did, however, look strong defensively with former Aston Villa centre back Olof Mellberg a key figure. Throughout the team they lacked pace and athleticism but Arsenal will have to work hard to break them down."

GIANOULIS FAKINOS
"Normally Olympiacos are a fancy team because of their fans. The fans are so enthusiastic and they are always intense. Scoring goals is what they want and how Olympiacos have to play.

"Obviously in the Champions League you can't play the same football. I believe the manager Ernesto Valverde will try to play in between. He will put out a solid formation and try and create a few chances against Arsenal if they can.

"They have got very good individuals, the likes of forward Rafik Djebbour for example will be a threat. Kevin Mirallas, the striker, is a very good player. I think there is a lot of enthusiasm in the team, and the willingness to go out and get a result at a team like Arsenal.

"They have Jean Makoun who has recently got his move from Aston Villa, and Olof Mellberg too. The Premier League is just a different level. But they are two players who have been there and have had the experiences of England.

"The big thing for Olympiacos for me is to keep following the pace and the rhythm of the game and the Arsenal players. This is a big challenge for them."
