Andre Santos expects to have a relaxed summer, and that's just the way he wants it.
Last July the full back starred for Brazil at the Copa America, where Brazil were knocked out in the quarter-finals, before returning to Turkey to prepare for the new season with Fenerbahce. Then, on the final day of the transfer window, Andre sealed his move to Arsenal to complete a hectic summer.
This year he's hoping for an altogether more straightforward preparation to the new season.
"Brazil will play a few friendly matches, but I don’t expect to get picked," Santos told the Official Matchday Programme, "because they will use the players going to the Olympics. The coach will want to prepare for that tournament, so I don’t blame him for that.
"Anyway, last season I played at the Copa America and didn’t have a proper pre-season because of that so I don’t mind having a holiday this summer.
"I need a proper preparation with Arsenal. Last year was crazy with the Copa America and I then had my transfer, so this year I want it to be more relaxed, a more regular start to the season - the opposite of last year!"
