Bacary Sagna says that Arsenal's flying start to the season has increased motivation levels across the whole squad.

Arsenal go into Wednesday's game with Hull four points clear at the top of the table, a stark contrast to this time 12 months ago, when the Gunners found themselves 10th - a full 15 points behind the leaders.

The France international right back is quite happy to lead from the front, and says the squad is determined to hold onto their position.

"It's a privilege for us that we want to keep," Sagna told the official matchday programme.

"When you start well, you give yourself a chance to stay there. When you have a bad start in England, you already know it's going to be quite tricky to win the league.

"We're in such a good position which we want to keep and the best way to do that is to give the maximum in every game. This year, anyone can beat anyone. That's such a danger and we need to stay focused until the end."
