Bacary Sagna believes the trust among the Arsenal squad has been key to their recent run in the Premier League.

Arsène Wenger’s side recorded their fourth straight league win on Saturday, battling back from a goal behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.

No other side has claimed more points from losing positions in the top flight this season and Sagna says a strong mentality is the driving factor.

“We trust each other and we promise ourselves to play whatever happens on the pitch,” he told Arsenal Player. “When you are 1-0 down it is not always easy to take, especially when it is an own goal.

“But we kept playing, kept fighting. We know we have a good team and we know we can score goals. It happened against Tottenham and we came back again today.

“It will help the team to look forward.”

The result means that Arsenal now hold a 10-point advantage over Kenny Dalglish’s side in the top-four race. “It [the win] was massive for us because they were just behind us,” said Sagna.

“We had to win as well because, although we won against Spurs, it was not enough just to do that. We had to win away against Liverpool to help us qualify for the Champions League.

“Now they are 10 points behind us and we can breathe a bit more. Now we have to win the next game at home to Newcastle and after that we will see.”
