Bacary Sagna admits he cannot wait for the “magic” of the north London derby this weekend.

Arsenal head into Sunday’s game in good form, having won three games in succession and having beaten Tottenham 5-2 the last two times the teams have met at Emirates Stadium.

"As I have said before, we can beat anyone. We have very talented players who are young and motivated"

Sagna is confident the Gunners will extend their record against Andre Villas-Boas’ side, but does not expect them to be weakened without Gareth Bale.

“Of course he was really important for their team but they have many other players,” the right back said. “Most of them play for their national teams and we know it is not going to be easy but at the same time we believe it is down to us to play our football.

“As I have said before, we can beat anyone. We have very talented players who are young and motivated.

“This game is one of the highlights of the season because it is a derby - we know how important it is for the fans, the club and the players to win it. The atmosphere is just magic and it will be even more magic if we win on Sunday.”

New signing Mathieu Flamini is expected to be in the squad for Sunday’s game and Sagna says it is a boost to have him in the ranks once again.

“Mathieu is a warrior,” he said. “I had the pleasure of playing with him six years ago and he is back and very motivated to play for Arsenal. I am looking forward to playing with him again.”
