Thomas Vermaelen has made a strong first impression on Bacary Sagna.
The Belgian centre back moved from Ajax to Emirates Stadium last month and is working hard at the Club's pre-season training camp in Austria as he prepares for his first campaign in English football.
Vermaelen has started both of Arsenal's pre-season friendlies to date – at Barnet and SC Columbia - and Sagna likes what he has seen so far.
"He is very good," Sagna told Arsenal.com.
"He has a good left foot, he is a good passer and I am happy to see him in the team."
