Ryo has been named in Japan's provisional 35-man football squad for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The 19-year-old winger made his Arsenal debut in September's Carling Cup third-round win against Shrewsbury and went to feature in the next round against Bolton.

The young midfielder moved on loan to Bolton in January and scored a superb goal in their FA Cup victory at Millwall in what was just his second game for the club.

Ryo earned rave reviews over the course of his spell at the Reebok Stadium, and made his senior Japan debut against Azerbaijan in May as a second-half substitute.

Japan will submit their final 18-man Olympic squad on July 2.
