Rosicky set for Emirates Stadium return

By Richard Clarke

Tomas Rosicky is set to play at Emirates Stadium this weekend for the first time since January 2008.

The Czech midfielder featured against Barnet in mid-July after recovering from a troublesome injury to his hamstring tendon. But only an appearance on his home ground will fully complete his comeback. That is set to happen on Saturday at the Emirates Cup.

Gael Clichy is also in line to play his first game of pre-season but Theo Walcott, Kieran Gibbs and Abou Diaby will all miss out.

Gael Clichy and Tomas Rosicky will play but Abou Diaby will not be available,” said Arsène Wenger at his pre-tournament press conference on Friday. “He should play at Valencia because he has a little knee problem.

Theo Walcott and Kieran Gibbs are not available because they have only had four days of training.”
