Arsène Wenger will wait until after Saturday’s training session before deciding whether Nicklas Bendtner is fit enough to return for Arsenal’s game at West Ham on Sunday.
The Dane missed the draw at Alkmaar in midweek because of a groin injury and, on Thursday, his manager rated both him and Tomas Rosicky (knee) as 50:50 for the Upton Park clash.
At his press conference a day later, Wenger revealed the Czech midfielder is out but Bendtner’s involvement is still in the balance.
“Before training we thought Rosicky would be 50:50,” said the Frenchman. “But he will not be available for Sunday now. Bendtner was OK today and will have another session tomorrow.
“Eduardo will definitely be back. From Tuesday night, we did not lose anybody and we could have Senderos available again.”
With Vito Mannone, Lukasz Fabianski and Manuel Almunia all fit, the manager has to make a tough decision over his keeper. When he spoke to the media, Wenger was giving no clues.
“I do not know,” he replied when questioned. “Come to the game on Sunday, and you will see.”Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source
