Tomas Rosicky has admitted he didn’t realise Arsène Wenger was watching the 4-1 victory over Spurs from the directors’ box and not from the Arsenal bench.
Wenger was serving a touchline ban after admitting an FA charge of improper conduct - leaving his assistant Pat Rice to give instructions from the touchline.
But Rosicky was too engrossed in the game to notice his manager’s absence.
“I honestly didn’t even know he wasn’t on the bench,” laughed the 29-year-old.
“It’s difficult sometimes because you are concentrating on the game - but honestly I didn’t even know he was suspended.
“I only found out during half time. Before the game and during half time he was there of course.”Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source
