Aaron Ramsey was delighted to claim three points against a solid QPR side in their New Year’s Eve clash at Emirates Stadium.

The Welsh midfielder admits Neil Warnock's side proved stubborn opponents on Saturday but believes that made the win especially satisfying.

"It was a tough game today, we had to be patient and wait for our chance," Ramsey told Arsenal Player.

"QPR had a good result at Swansea, which is a tough place to go, and they have kept a number of clean-sheets. They've been in good form, they're very solid defensively, so it was tough for us.

"We created a few opportunities, and on another day we probably would have scored them, but it was hard. It is a game that we are delighted to win."
